TCLT coordinated the Audubon Christmas Bird Count for Townsend. We also participated in the count by observing birds on three of our properties: Howard M Stein Memorial Park, Pheasant Ridge Trail and Park, and the Mikko and John Aho Nature Trail.
Despite windy weather, there were 18 participants (and several children), a total of 38.5 observation hours, 12.1 miles driven and 9.5 miles walked.
30 species were counted in Townsend including 2 bald eagles, a fox sparrow and a turkey vulture.
